Fly fishing Spain in the Late Fall is One of Life’s Great Rewards
Spain’s Pyrenees Mountains in late October are in full bloom, with a veritable kaleidoscope of bright yellows and reds that seemingly leap right off the forest and surrounding mountains. The days are getting shorter, the mornings are crisp and cool and any establishment that has a working fireplace has seen an uptick in people coming in the last few weeks.
Fly Fishing Spain
I was back in Spain of my annual hosted trip to the Pyrenees Mountains and while the water levels were extremely high for early July, we made the best of it and some lovely fish were landed. In all my travels, I don’t think that there is a trip I look forward to more than when I go back to Spain each summer. The food and wine are excellent and I just love the diversity of species and environments that the Pyrenees offers anglers.
Running with the Bulls Pamplona Spain
On the morning of July 6th, the group of anglers we had in Spain all traveled from the lodge in Santa Celia to the Pyrenees foothill town of Pamplona, for the world famous Running of the Bulls. This group stayed for 4 days of great meals, excellent wines, numerous late-night cocktail parties and of course, the bull runs at 8 am each morning and the bullfights at 6:30 pm each evening.
