LA RIOJA

Sitting about an hour south of the Pyrenees Mountains, in the north-west part of Spain, the magnificent La Rioja wine region is one of Spain’s true jewels. This wonderful area produces some of the finest wines in the world, with a diverse combination of vineyards that offer superb visits and tastings.

The rolling hills and vast stretches of fertile farmland stretch as far as the eye can see, with the best sections of the land utilized to grow these exceptional wines. From visiting the vines out in the fields to the manual harvest and barreling, guests will learn about the history and production of these excellent wines, while sampling the best of what each vineyard produces.

We are very partial to the older wineries in this region as opposed to the more modern or newer vineyards as we feel that the more traditional vineyards offer a far more interesting and better over-all experience. Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or simply enjoy a great glass of wine and are interested in learning about this regions’ wonderful offerings, we can tailor your visit to La Rioja so that it hits all the marks.

The heart of La Rioja region is the city of Logrono. Situated in the western part of the Rioja, Lograno has an exceptional and little-known Tapas scene that is the equal to anything we have experienced in San Sebastian or any of the other famous Tapas cities in Spain. We have an excellent Tapas coordinator in Lograno and she will either escort guests or set up a superb Tapas experience that guests can do on their own. All guests on our La Rioja tours have the option of staying in Lograno or staying in one of the smaller towns within the area.

Our tours run from 2-5 days in length and all of our La Rioja tours are chauffeured in comfortable Mercedez Benz cars, so there is no need to worry about having an extra glass of wine or getting lost on one of the many smaller roads that our drivers use to get from vineyard to vineyard. Non-chauffeured tours are not an option.
